Meet Dr. Jacob Calder

Chiropractor Madison, Dr. Jacob CalderFollowing the Health Care Path

In 2012, Dr. Jake started at Ithaca College as a pre-health sciences major. Though interested in health care, it wasn’t until a career seminar that he realized chiropractic was the right path. Different professionals would come in to speak with the class. The last one of the semester was an admissions representative from New York Chiropractic College. Listening to the speech, it reminded him of how much chiropractic had impacted his life already.

It clicked for me that day. I knew what I wanted to do with my life.

Realizing the Need for Chiropractic

At age 14, Dr. Jake and his mom were in a rear-impact accident. It was difficult to see his mom suffer that way, as she was already afflicted with a frozen shoulder. They both saw tremendous results from chiropractic care and it left a lasting impression. To this day, she sees that same chiropractor on a monthly basis. Dr. Jake experienced troubles about a year later when his back pain became constant. The chiropractor helped him with that, too, allowing him to work and play lacrosse and hockey without pain.

Combined with what he’d heard during his seminar and meeting with academic advisors, Dr. Jake knew he wanted to become a chiropractor. To best prepare himself for chiropractic college, Dr. Jake transferred to the University of Delaware, graduating in 2016. Then, he attended New York Chiropractic College.

Bringing His Expertise to Our Office

After earning his Doctor of Chiropractic, Dr. Jake wanted to return to his home state. He discovered that Dr. John was looking for someone to mentor. Dr. Jake completed his externship at Shoreline Chiropractic, then joined the team permanently upon his graduation.

Making the Most of Life in Madison

From April to late October, you can find Dr. Jake near the water. He loves being so close to the ocean at Shoreline Chiropractic. When in chiropractic college, he was just a quarter-mile from one of the best bass fishing lakes in the country. He loves to fish, often taking out his small boat during the warmer months. During the winter, he plays recreational hockey. Dr. Jake’s newest hobby is spending time in the kitchen cooking new recipes.
